Reiki is not part of any religion nor is there any requirement to follow any religion or have a belief in any god. As a healing energy that comes from outside the body and is conscious, Reiki healers do recognize that consciousness that is of a higher vibration than their own does exist. Because of the recognition of a higher vibration consciousness and admonitions to meditate daily, many healers do say that Reiki allows them to feel closer to their deity(ies).
